Privacy

Plain-English privacy.

We collect only what is needed to understand audience interest and answer genuine enquiries.

The Big Busk interest register

When you select “Yes, I’d watch it”, Bluefish Works stores a random browser identifier and the date of your response so that one device is not counted repeatedly. You may support the project without giving us your name or email address.

If you voluntarily add an email and optional first name and consent to film updates, we store these with your response, consent date and the wording version you agreed to. We also record a campaign source such as Instagram or Facebook, without advertising cookies. Your details are accessible only to the site owner through the private workdesk and are stored in the website’s hosted database. Your email is unverified until we establish contact. We retain your details until you withdraw consent or the film campaign closes, then delete them within twelve months. Your email is stored with your response and used only for meaningful news about The Big Busk. It is not sold or shared for unrelated marketing.

Bluefish Books news and offers

The Bluefish Books mailing list is a separate choice from film updates. If you opt in, Bluefish Works, trading as Bluefish Books, stores your email, optional first name, campaign source, optional self-reported buyer status, and the date and wording version of your consent. These details are used for Bluefish Books news, new releases, special offers and promotions. Signing up is optional and is not required to express interest in the film or send an enquiry.

New addresses are held pending confirmation. Details are kept in our hosted website database and are visible only to the site owner. When a mailing provider is connected, it will process subscriber details on our behalf to send and manage these emails; we will update this notice before transferring the list. We do not sell your details.

You can unsubscribe through the link included in promotional emails, without signing in, or use our contact form. We stop promotional mail when you unsubscribe and retain a minimal suppression and consent record to respect your choice. We review unused pending sign-ups within twelve months. The website does not currently send marketing or confirmation emails automatically.

Enquiries and review requests

Bluefish Works stores the name, email, organisation and message you submit so Simon Saunders can respond. Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Enquiries are retained while the conversation is active and for up to twelve months after it closes, unless needed for an ongoing rights or contractual matter. You can request deletion sooner.

Your choices

You may ask to see, correct or delete personal information connected to your email, or withdraw consent from future updates. Send these requests to Bluefish Works using our contact form, marking your message “Privacy request”.

Basic hosting logs may be processed for security and reliable operation. Advertising trackers are not enabled. Amazon click counts are stored by day and campaign, without your email, IP address or a tracking cookie; clicks do not establish purchases.
