The Big Busk · From page to screen

Help bring this story to the big screen.

London, winter 1984. Music. Friendship. A turf war fought one pavement at a time.

Would you watch it?

The King Biscuits make their living on London’s streets. When they challenge Leicester Square’s feared enforcer for a better pitch, the price of freedom turns out to be much higher than they imagined.

Simon Saunders has adapted Duncan McCowan’s novel into a feature screenplay, recognised as an Austin Film Festival 2026 Second Rounder. That recognition is for the screenplay.

Why your interest matters

Help us show there’s an audience waiting.

We believe The Big Busk deserves to be a film. To make that happen, we need to give potential producers and financiers a compelling reason to believe in it too.

A finished screenplay is part of that case. So are the budget, the team and the people who would come to watch. An audience already expressing interest gives us something concrete to take into those conversations.

That’s why we’re asking for your support now. Your registration helps us show that this story has people behind it, and gives us stronger evidence when we seek the partners who can bring it to the screen.

We want to give a distinctive, independent story the best chance of being made. If you’d like to see The Big Busk on screen, let us know.

Registering is free. You can express interest without leaving contact details, or add your email and consent to occasional film updates. Every response helps us understand the potential audience; it is not a funding pledge or a guarantee of production.
